The last round of the summer season was held at Casey Fields and the strong performances on display mean the Glenhuntly men are in a perfect position to take on the Shield Final in two weeks time.
Dylan Calleja and Braydn Tatham were the outstanding athletes in the 200m, both winning their respective heats (23.59 and 23.68). There were not many participants in the 800m with Beau Lang picking up the best time (2:10.7) from the Glenhuntly men followed closely by Antonio Russo (2:11.5).
Chris Winter was usual suspect in the 5km run, posting a solid time of 16:01.5 but special mention must go to points-machine Justin Cohen for hitting the track with 21:02.4 It was also Justin Cohen who was our only competitor in the 400m hurdles, posting a time of 71.5 and picking up some vital points in the process
It was not our strongest showing in the 4x400m relay, falling behind Knox’s division one and two teams. Hopefully we will have full numbers come the Shield Final!
Tim Rosen smashed out a great Triple Jump, hitting 12.55m followed by Beau Lang with 11.91m. Justin Cohen reached a PB in the shot put as he threw 6.86m and reached an equal PB height in the High Jump, getting over the bar at 1.45m. Beau Lang was our best thrower in the shot put at 8.05m.· Team Captain Will Little was the only competitor in the Hammer on the day, throwing 17.60m.
So rest up Hunters and start preparing yourselves for the Shield Final on Saturday 16th February, where we are looking to make it three titles in four years! Go Hunters!
