AUSTRALIAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS APRIL 2013.
Congratulations to our nine athletes who travelled to Sydney for the 91st Australian Championships, held over last weekend. They all did themselves and the club proud with their performances; the results are listed below.
Highlight was Kellie’s great 800m run to win in a World Championship B Qualifying time. Kellie’s time was almost a club record, currently held by former Commonwealth Games runner Michelle Baumgartner at 2:01.1. As Michelle’s time was a hand held watch we will also recognize Kellies time of 2:01.22 electronic time.
Nicholas Hum was also superb with a qualifier in the long jump.
It was also good to see Sean Wroe back after a long stint out with a foot and then a calf injury. Well done, all.
