Theobald Challenge – This Saturday 20th July

This year the Club is hosting the 67th year of the Theobald Challenge with a 5k race at Nortons Park, Glen Waverly, Melbourne, on Saturday afternoon  next 20th July.

Each year the Theobald Challenge alternates between Melbourne and Adelaide and it has been a Club event between Glenhuntly Athletic Club and Western District Athletics Club for 67 years.

The venue for this year’s Challenge is in Melbourne – at Nortons Park, Nortons Lane, Glen Waverley. Melways Ref: Map 71K2, or Map 72 A2


Saturday 20th July 2013


Race start time is 2.30pm, arrival time 2.00pm at the latest please.


5 KM (approx) Cross Country on an undulating course.


Within Nortons Park.

 Afternoon Tea:                  

Please bring food and drink for afternoon tea.


Prizes will be awarded to first places M & F open, Juniors (U18) and Masters (40+) as well as handicap winners M & F (both clubs).


Toilet facilities are available at Nortons Park.

Saturday Night Dinner:

Rosstown Hotel, 1084 Dandenong Rd, Carnegie (cnr Koornang Rd).

Time:   7pm

As we need to confirm numbers with the Hotel in advance would you please let either Simon Bowly or Cass Higham know by Wednesday 17th if you wish to join us for what should be a great night (After a great run in the afternoon).
