XCR ’15 Round 6 Sandown Relays

Womens Report
Sandown Relays were yet again a very successful and enjoyable day for the Hunter women despite some unsavory weather.
-The Premier division won an unexpected Gold. Karinna gave the team a magnificent start, running the fastest time for the Glenhuntly girls. Rebecca and Laura had their first runs in a premier relay team and really stood up to the challenge, both running exceptionally and giving it their absolute all. Anna had a huge improvement on last year’s time, keeping the team on track in the middle of the race and Cassie brought them home strong, picking off the other teams to claim the win.
-Bridget, Kellie and Gill also landed on the podium, claiming the bronze in the Masters race.
-It was great to have Simone with us in her first run for the new season and a huge thanks to both Natasha Ockenden for stepping up to open and Helen for running despite being injured to make up teams.
-Monash student Sarah Cheong was joined by past members Sarah Lund and Sonia O’Sullivan for an invitational team which did extremely well. It was excellent to see Sarah L running so well already as she comes back from injury.
It would be wonderful to see our dominance continue for the remaining 4 rounds and hopefully we’ll have a big turnout (and lots of cow bells) at Brimbank Park!
