Rio Paralympics – Russell Short  Shot Put 7th

Another club member, Russell Short, in the Shot Put, finished with an  excellent seventh placing. In a highly competitive event, Russell put the shot in a near PB 15.02m, to set a club masters record. Russell is competing at his eighth Paralympics, having first competed in 1988. At London in 2012 he was the Australian Flag bearer.

Fantastic effort, Russell.

Also at the Paralympics in Rio, past members Jess Gallagher (cycling bronze) and Jake Lappin (400m Wheelchair, eliminated in heat) have represented their country proudly.
